DH-IGNITE is a regional event hosted by SADiLaR as part of the ESCALATOR programme. Through the event we aim to bring people together who are interested to learn more about Digital Humanities (DH) and Computational Social Sciences (CSS) as well as those who are already active in these fields.
The programme is open to researchers, postgraduate student and professional academic staff affiliated with South African public universities and research institutes.

DH-IGNITE Northern Region will be held in Polokwane from 15 - 17 April 2024.
This event is open to researchers, students and professional support staff interested and/or involved in Digital Humanities or Computational Social Sciences research. Participants must be affiliated with one of the public universities in Limpopo or Mpumalanga.
SADiLaR will sponsor participation of selected nominees in liason with Deans and Library Directors from University of Limpopo, University of Venda, and University of Mpumalanga.
SADiLaR will also sponsor event fees (excluding travel & accommodation) for selected individuals who are not nominated by their Dean or Library Directors.
Participants will have to sign a no-show fee form confirming that they will be liable to refund SADiLaR for conference costs should they not attend the conference without valid and timely communication with the programme team.

Each event will be open to participants from the relevant regional South African institutions as listed on the respective event pages. Dedicated spaces will be available to representatives nominated by the Humanities & Social Sciences Dean or Library Director from each university.
Additional spaces will be available by application.
